This note explains what Karibu Trove does with your details. We keep it short on purpose.
What we collect
- Members: your name, WhatsApp number and/or email, the apartment you stayed at, your kind of trip, and when you plan to travel. Later, your stays, points balance and any travel preferences you share.
- Hosts: your name, contact details, apartment details and listing link.
- Messages: what you send us on WhatsApp or email.
Why we use it
- To run your membership: confirm your credit, track points and recognize you at each apartment.
- To handle your requests and bookings.
- To tell you about new apartments and offers, only if you've agreed to hear from us. You can say stop at any time.
- To improve the Collection, using patterns across members rather than your individual details.
Who sees it
- The host of an apartment you request, so they can prepare for your stay and recognize you.
- Tools we use to run the service, such as WhatsApp (Meta), email and spreadsheet providers, and payment providers. These may process data outside Kenya.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
We don't sell your details.
How long we keep it
While you're a member and for a reasonable period afterward, then we delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or withdraw your consent, at any time by emailing or messaging us on WhatsApp. You have the rights set out in Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, and if you live in the EU or UK, the rights that apply to you there. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
This website
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google can see your IP address when a page loads. If we add analytics later, we'll update this note.

Membership is for people aged 18 and over.
